Max Steiger, M.Sc.
Short Bio
I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Medical System Engineering (B.Sc.) at the Otto-von-Guericke University, followed by a Master's Degree in Medical System Engineering at the Otto-von-Guericke University in 2022. Specializing in Machine Learning and Medical Visualization, I worked on an FPGA-based control System and X-ray flat panels for my master's thesis. Since the summer of 2023, I have been pursuing my PhD in the Virtual and Augmented Reality Group at Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg and the Research Campus STIMULATE.
Research Interests
My research focuses on interventional CT, particularly marker-less tracking, decision support, and automation. I explore efficient, easy-to-use markerless tracking techniques and their appropriate integration into automated CT adjustments based on position information to reduce radiation dose. Further, I work on making neural network uncertainties visible. In cooperation with colleagues, we integrated markerless tracking into an automatic robotic control system.
