About us
Welcome to the Chair of Virtual and Augmented Reality (VAR) at the Faculty of Computer Science of Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, Germany. Founded in 2020, the chair is part of the STIMULATE research campus, an interdisciplinary environment dedicated to advancing technologies for image-guided therapies.
Our research addresses fundamental and applied questions in virtual and augmented reality, human–computer interaction, and image and signal processing. We also contribute to academic teaching with a broad range of courses in the Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes in Computer Science, Computational Visualistics, Visual Computing, and Medical Systems Engineering.
We maintain close collaborations with key partners in the STIMULATE network, including the University Hospital Magdeburg, Hannover Medical School, the University Medical Center Mainz, and Fraunhofer MEVIS in Bremen.
