Short Bio

I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Virtual and Augmented Reality Group. After completing my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computational Visualistics and Computer Science at the University of Magdeburg, I earned my PhD on projector-based augmented reality for needle-based medical interventions. Following a period as a senior researcher at the University of Würzburg, I returned to Magdeburg, where I currently lead the junior research group on Human-Machine Interaction at the medical engineering Research Campus STIMULATE. In this role, I contribute to interdisciplinary research projects and teaching activities in the field of extended reality.

Research Interests

My research focuses on XR technologies for medical applications. I am particularly interested in novel visualization and interaction concepts for augmented and virtual environments. This includes:

  • Visualization methods of medical data in XR
  • Projector-based augmented reality and its simulation in virtual reality
  • Interaction techniques and interfaces for XR and collaborative robotic systems
  • XR-based support for clinical workflows and medical training
  • Evaluation of user experience and usability in immersive environments
