About us
Welcome to the Chair of Virtual and Augmented Reality (VAR) at the Faculty of Computer Science of the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, Germany. Founded in 2020, the chair is part of the STIMULATE research campus, an interdisciplinary environment dedicated to advancing technologies for image-guided therapies.
Our research focuses on fundamental and applied questions in Virtual and Augmented Reality, Human–Computer Interaction, and Image/Signal Processing. We contribute to academic teaching through a diverse set of courses within the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Computer Science, Computational Visualistics, Visual Computing, and Medical Systems Engineering.
We maintain active collaborations with key partners across the STIMULATE network, including the University Hospital Magdeburg, Hannover Medical School, the University Medical Center Mainz, and Fraunhofer MEVIS in Bremen.
