Encouragement Award

Mareike Gabele has been distinguished with an Encouragement Award at the International Conference on Interfaces and Human Computer Interaction (IHCI). Mareike is a PhD student at the research campus STIMULATE and conducts a cooperative PhD project funded by the FEM Power Program of the University of Applied Sciences Magdeburg-Stendal.

Mareike was selected for the short paper "Light as a long-term visualization method of the educational level for patients in home education in rehabilitation" together with her co-authors Andrea Thoms, Dominik Schumacher, Steffi Husslein and Christian Hansen. The work was carried out as part of the EU-funded research project "Home Training for the Treatment of Cognitive Disorders" in cooperation with HASOMED in Magdeburg. As part of Mareike's doctoral project, a system for the treatment of cognitive disorders in stroke patients is being investigated. A focus is on the development of innovative user interfaces and new visualization techniques.
